ESU Junior Ryan Kately Performs Heimlich Maneuver, and will be Presented with Safety Award this Month

Jim Flannery, East Stroudsburg University’s assistant police chief and chairman of the safety committee, will present the school’s Safety Award to ESU junior Ryan Kately, who performed the Heimlich maneuver on a classmate who had been choking.
Kately, who is from Nazareth, Pa., and is majoring in physical education, will be given the award on Tuesday, January 28, in the university police conference room, which is in ground floor of Hemlock Suites.
