ESU Department of Business Management Students Offering Free Tax Preparation Help

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania accounting students are offering their assistance to the general public in preparing tax returns free of charge by appointment only through Saturday, April 12. The ESU Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program will be offered from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays at the ESU Innovation Center, located at 562 Independence Road, East Stroudsburg, Pa.
All ESU students involved in providing the tax preparation assistance are senior business management and accounting majors who have received training by the IRS and passed the required qualifying exam. The service is a voluntary component of the students’ required coursework and the associated educational professional development and community service. Student volunteers include: Colin Taylor from Cochranville, Pa.; David Dalrymple from Center Valley, Pa.; Sandra Mateo from Long Pond, Pa.; Ryan Harrison from Levittown, Pa.; Holden Eckles from Tobyhanna, Pa.; Chelsea Wootten from Tunkhannock, Pa.; and Fatou Ndiaye from East Stroudsburg, Pa.
