ESU’s Dance Company to Present Spring Performance This Month

The University Dance Company at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania will present its spring performance at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25, and at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. Each show will be at the Abeloff Center for the Performing Arts.
This semi-annual performance incorporates the talents of students, faculty members and guest artists. Tickets for the shows on April 24-25 are $4 for those with an ESU E-card and $8 for the general public. On Saturday, it will cost $5 for those with an ESU E-card and $10 for the general public.
Local author and dance professional, Maria Triano, will be on hand Saturday, April 26, for a book signing from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to meet Triano, purchase a copy of her book, The Namaste Garden, and receive an autograph. She has been a guest artist for the University Dance Company for 20 years. Her choreography will be featured in the dance performance, which begins at 2 p.m. She also will perform with some of the dancers from her studio, PA Dance Network.
Student members of the University Dance Company include: Heather Williams, a freshman from Ridley, Pa., majoring in early childhood education; Mahea Bowen, a freshman from Quakertown, Pa., majoring in hotel, restaurant and tourism management; Jessica Gigantino, a sophomore from Mount Ephraim, N.J., majoring in early childhood and special education; Kaitlynne Siley, a sophomore from Philadelphia majoring in social work; Darby Owen, a freshman from Monroe, N.J., majoring in early childhood education; Katie Constantine, a sophomore from East Stroudsburg, Pa., majoring in early childhood and special education; Marissa Kvacky, a freshman from Bath, Pa., majoring in biology; Courtney Bush, a junior from New Hartford, Conn., majoring in media communications and technology; Michelle Zbinden, a junior from Milford, Pa., majoring in social work; Rebecca Rehrig, a freshman from Mohrsville, Pa., majoring in early childhood and special education; and Julie Rehrig, a sophomore from Nazareth, Pa., majoring in speech-language pathology.
