ESU Hosts Debates for Republican and Democratic Candidates for State Senate and House of Representatives

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania will host two political debates. The first debate is for Pennsylvania’s Republican primary race for the House of Representatives 115th District Seat on Thursday, April 24, at 7 p.m. The 115th District covers all of Coolbaugh Township, Paradise Township, Price Township, Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg and most of Stroud Township. The second debate is Thursday, May 1, at 7 pm in Beers Lecture Hall for Pennsylvania’s Democratic primary race for the 40th Senate District Seat which covers all of Monroe County and the northern portion of Northampton County.
The debates are open to the public at no cost and are being sponsored by ESU’s Political Science Department, the American Democracy Project and the College Republicans. Jeffrey Weber, Ph.D., associate professor and chairperson of the political science department, and Adam McGlynn, Ph.D., assistant professor and coordinator of the American Democracy Project, are moderating the debates.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear candidates’ political views which is meant to help voters make an informed decision on Election Day on Tuesday, May 20. For more information, contact Weber at 570-422-3754.
