ESU Signs Five Articulation Agreements With Northampton Community College

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania signed five articulation agreements with Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pa., on Wednesday, April 30. Three of those articulation agreements were with the Business Management, Sport Management, and Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management degree programs, while the other two were with the Social Work and Criminal Justice degree programs.

The articulation agreements facilitate the seamless transfer of college credits students earn at NCC toward a four-year degree at ESU.

Founded in 1893, ESU is one of the 14 institutions in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. ESU offers nearly 60 undergraduate degrees and more than 20 graduate degrees. ESU is the top transfer destination for NCC students, with about 125 students transferring each year to ESU. Including the state-wide articulation agreements approved for NCC students graduating this spring, the total number of articulation agreements between ESU and NCC now stands at 22.

Attending Wednesday’s signing from ESU were: President Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D, who provided opening remarks; Van A. Reidhead, Ph.D., provost and vice president of academic affairs; Robert Fleischman, Ed.D., J.D., dean of the college of business and management; Peter Hawkes, Ph.D., dean of the college of arts and sciences; John Kraybill-Greggo, Ph.D., associate professor and department chair of sociology, social work and criminal justice; Al Moranville, professor and department chair of hotel, restaurant and tourism management; Candice Pellegrino, assistant registrar, transfer and articulation.

Attending Wednesday’s signing from NCC were: President Dr. Mark Erickson, who provided opening remarks; Dr. Jeffrey Focht, vice president for academic affairs; Dr. Denise Francois-Seeney, dean of business and technology; Dr. Christine Pense, dean of humanities and social sciences; Dr. Jack Spirk, associate professor of criminal justice; Hope Horowitz, associate professor of social work/sociology; David Schweiger, director of hospitality programs; Adrian Yaguez, assistant director of athletics, sport management instructor; Mark Henry, director of advising, transfer and accommodation services.
