Two East Stroudsburg University student vocalists, Erica Mendez and Rich Hennessy, will present a Junior/Senior Voice Recital Thursday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall of the University’s Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg.
The recital, sponsored by the Department of Music, is open to the public at no cost.
The program will feature a mixture of vocal music from classical, contemporary and Broadway repertories. Both Mendez and Hennessy are vocal students of Wendy Grice, adjunct professor of music at ESU.

At ESU, Mendez has performed with the Concert Choir, in the musical revues Broadway Memories and A Grand Night for Singing; in Contemporary Dance performances and in several voice recitals. In high school she opened for Aretha Franklin at Robin Hood Dell East; sang the role of Belle in Beauty and the Beast in the Philadelphia Recreation Department production; sang the national anthem at Citizens Bank Park for a Phillies game; and was a soloist at a Kimmel Center event.
Senior Rich Hennessy, who will graduate in May, is majoring in business management and minoring in theatre. From Carteret, N. J., he is president of ESU’s Student Senate.
At ESU, Hennessy appeared in the cabaret, From Oldies to Newsies, the musical revues Broadway Memories and Reel Revue, and as Bob Crachit in A Christmas Carol. He also appeared in several high school and community theatre productions including The Gondoliers and Into the Woods.
