Department of Music at ESU To Present Spring Choral Concert

Music spanning many centuries and songs in other languages will be featured at the East Stroudsburg University’s Spring Choral Concert Wednesday, May 8 at 7:30 p.m. at the Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall of the Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg.

Selections to be presented by the A Cappella Ensemble include: “Locus Iste” by Anton Bruckner; “Johnny Has Gone For a Soldier;” “Daemon Irrepit Callidus” by Gyorgy Orban; and “My Lord Has Come” by Will Todd.

The Concert Choir will perform “Make Our Garden Grow” by Leonard Bernstein; “Crucifixus” by J.S. Bach; “Anthony O’Daly” by Samuel Barber; “Hard Times Come Again No More” by Stephen Foster; “Past Life Melodies” by Sarah Hopkins and other selections.  Both groups are under the direction of James Maroney, Ed.D., associate professor of music.

The concert, sponsored by the Department of Music, is open to the public at no cost.
