On Thursday, April 18, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania will hold an Earth Day celebration event from 1 to 4 p.m. on the main quad on campus. The theme for this year’s event is “Bee Aware, Save the Bees.”
This year will mark the 49th anniversary of Earth Day, a day established for the purpose of bringing awareness to environmental concerns, instilling an appreciation for nature’s role in all of our lives and to encourage a sense of action to conserve and protect nature’s frailty. The theme for the 2019 event is “Bee Aware, Save the Bees” and will include a presentation by local bee keeper, Ron Witt, and free flowers and honey sticks to all who attend.
If there is inclement weather on April 18, the event will take place inside the University Center. For more information about ESU’s 2019 Earth Day Celebration contact Melissa Ciment, assistant director of student engagement, at 570-422-3055 or email mciment@esu.edu.
