East Stroudsburg University will honor Wayne Bolt on Friday, November 4 during the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Summit. Mr. Bolt will receive the inaugural Keepers of the Flame Award. This award recognizes the contributions of State System employees, students, alumni and community members who epitomize the promise of diversity, equity and inclusion. Award honorees embody a commitment to creating and promoting diverse, equitable and inclusive environments that cultivate a sense of belonging.
A community member, Bolt is a proud supporter of ESU and its students. He is a founding member of the Prince Hall Educational Scholarship Golf Classic that supports the Prince Hall Endowed Scholarship, which enables students who attend the Prince Hall Elementary School in Philadelphia the opportunity to further their education at ESU. He is a member ESU’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Breakfast planning committee and a sponsor of the Julianna V. Bolt art contest awarded during the celebration each year. He has also established the Julianna V. Bolt Endowed Scholarship, in honor of his late wife. The scholarship is awarded to a student studying digital media technologies.
The PASSHE DEI summit will be held virtually November 2 – 4, 2022. ESU will host an in-person kickoff reception on November 2 where registered participants can enjoy refreshments and watch the virtually keynote speaker, Dr. Terrell Lamont Strayhorn.
