ESU Announces African American Heritage Month Events

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is celebrating African American Heritage Month with a series of events beginning on February 2. This year’s theme will focus on honoring the history and heritage of African Americans and raising cultural awareness. Highlights include a hip hop dance class, an entrepreneurs’ expo, a motivational talk with emotional fitness coach Deborah Cofer, and a Throwback Thursday 90s dance party. Be sure to check of the Because of Them We Can Photo Campaign in the University Center. Some activities listed below are open to the public at no cost, and the schedule is subject to change. Black Jeopardy is a skit which displays the many stereotypes that people have to deal with every day. As these stereotypes are brought to light there will be a discussion about increasing understanding and cultural awareness.
