The Departments of Sociology, Social Work and Criminal Justice at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) will host a Law Enforcement Partnership Day at ESU on Thursday April 11, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.in the quad area directly in front of Monroe Hall. The event, which will feature ESU University Police and several local police agencies, is open to the general public at no cost.
Richard A. Ruck Jr., a sociology instructor at ESU and event organizer, explains, “The goal of ESU’s Law Enforcement Partnership Day is to provide our students with an opportunity to meet law enforcement officers in order to learn, share ideas, and participate in demonstrations of police equipment.” One such demonstration, according to Ruck, will be a police equestrian demonstration by the City of Bethlehem Police Department. ESU students, especially those studying in the fields of criminal justice, sociology and social work, will be invited to interact with police officers and officials and there will also be recruitment opportunities for interested students.
For more information about the event, please contact Ruck at 570-422-3192/3453 or by email at rruck@esu.edu.
