The digital media technologies (DMT) department at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania will spend the next three nights playing a role in producing the Pocono Medical Center Auxiliary Auction, which debuts tonight.
As a result of working with the PMC Auxiliary Auction for many years, part of the proceeds earned during the auction will be donated to scholarships for the DMT students. Students participating in the production are receiving real world experience, according to Richard Otto, Ph.D., assistant professor and chair of DMT.
“Working to produce the PMC Auxiliary Auction under the supervision of Adrian Wehmeyer, assistant professor of DMT, students are provided with the opportunity to use the skills they have acquired in the classroom to produce a live television program,” he said. “This is an invaluable experience to apply what they learned in the class to the real world.”
The PMC Auxiliary auction will be televised on Channel 13 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
