The East Stroudsburg University Foundation held INSPIRE, the 13th Annual Scholarship Dinner on April 6, 2022, at Terraview at Stroudsmoor Country Inn in Stroudsburg, Pa. The annual event gives donors and their student recipients a special chance to celebrate and connect. Nearly 240 guests attended the event.

Each year hundreds of ESU students benefit from the generosity of the Foundation’s donors. The Foundation has provided 630 scholarship awards totaling $994,433 to students this academic year.

“We are honored to showcase the impact of our generous donors,” said Rich Santoro, executive director of the ESU Foundation. “They are truly making educational dreams come true for our deserving students.”

Kirstin Hendershot, a sophomore majoring in early childhood education from Pen Argyl, Pa., was the mistress of ceremonies. Hannah Strausser, a sophomore majoring in early childhood education from Birdsboro, Pa., and David Akinwande, a senior majoring in nursing from Levittown, Pa., were the featured speakers. They shared their inspirational stories of how their scholarship support has impacted their education at ESU. The event program also included performances from ESU musical theatre students.

The event was sponsored by PSECU and The Haverford Trust Company. To see the full list of 2021-2022 scholarships awarded and their student recipients, please visit esufoundation.org/inspire.
