ESU Helps Students as they Prepare for Finals Week

Every semester many students at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania cram at the library, pull all-nighters and drink a little bit too much coffee in preparation for finals week, which is coming up the week of December 6 – 11.
Looking to help students deal with the stress, various areas of campus are offering activities and treats. On Thursday, December 3, students can head to the de-stress zone in the Science and Technology Center lobby, which will include therapy dogs and free acupuncture for students, sponsored by the Offices of Counseling and Psychological Services and University Health Services. That evening, the theatre department invites all students to come out and have a good laugh at 7 p.m. in the Dale Snow Theater. The show “I Thought You Were Joking” is made up of skits performed by students of Stephanie French, professor of theatre.
In the residence halls, students who live on campus may partake in study sessions beginning this week. The physics department will demonstrate how sweet it is to be a physics major by hosting an ice cream social on Thursday on the third floor of the Science and Technology Center in the physics office area.
The ESU Student Activity Association (SAA) will conclude the week on Friday, December 4 at 9 p.m. with chair massages, desserts and hot chocolate in Dansbury Commons. Members of Student Senate will cheer students on by handing out free snacks in the University Center, Science and Technology Center and Fine and Performing Arts Center next week.
Aramark Dining Services will vary its Late Night offerings during finals week, including Nachos & Mini Tacos Night December 6, Sugary Sweet Night December 7, and Waffles & French Toast Sticks December 8. Students studying in Kemp Library next week will have access to the Food for Thought Café until midnight Thursday, December 10 and Aramark will provide free coffee after the Food for Thought Cafe closes.
