East Stroudsburg University’s Madelon Powers Gallery, located in the University’s Fine and Performing Arts Center, will host a Holiday Market featuring handmade craft and gift items made by university students, staff and friends December 2-7.

Two artisans from the gallery’s 2015 market will return this year. Cindy Vojnovic, supervisor of the ESU Graphics Center, will show handmade jewelry and gift items, and the Student Art Association will show work made using the various technologies in the G3D lab including laser-cut ornaments and 3D-printed items.

New ESU artisans will include freshman Gabriella Cuevas, an undeclared major from Matamoras, Pa., wood burning; staff member Robyn Coscia, decorative items made with vintage upcycled barn wood; and staff member Mary Lou Smith, jewelry made from sea glass, stones and shells. Friends of ESU exhibiting will include Linda Schwartz, one-of-a-kind, hand-crafted pottery, and Robin Bellafonte, jewelry made from vintage buttons and vintage jewelry pieces.

The opening reception, December 2 at 6 p.m., precedes the 7:30 p.m. performance of Duke Ellington’s Nutcracker Suite by the Water Gap Jazz Orchestra in the Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall of the university’s Fine and Performing Arts Center. There will be a holiday wreath competition for ESU faculty, staff and students and seasonal songs performed by ESU’s Musical Theater Organization at the reception.

The reception and Holiday Market are open to the public at no cost, but there is an admission charge for the concert. For information and ticket reservations, visit the Jazz at ESU website.

Weekday hours for the Holiday Market will be 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 5; and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 6 and Thursday, December 7.
