East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania hosted its second annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service on Thursday. ESU students, faculty, staff and members of the community joined together to work on service projects that would benefit those in need. The projects included the assembling of hygiene kits, which will be donated to the local Salvation Army and the Red Cross, and creating Valentine’s Day cards for local nursing homes.
“We established the day of service following the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday so that students could be back on campus and get involved,” Cornelia Sewell-Allen, director of multicultural affairs at ESU, said.
