ESU Presents the Greatest Homecoming on Earth

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is excited to invite alumni, students, faculty, staff, and members of the community to Homecoming 2016. This year’s theme, “The Greatest Homecoming on Earth,” will bring a carnival atmosphere to campus. The week is packed with exciting activities and festivities kicks off October 12 with the 8th Annual Drag Show, hosted by Sharron Ann Husbands and Carolann Carolann, featuring the Hawthorn Hotties.

The main event will bring carnival rides and games to Koehler Fieldhouse Lawn on Saturday, October 15 from 12 to 6 p.m. Amongst carnival games will be a Ferris wheel and paratrooper, provided by Goodtime Amusements.

The Alumni Association is excited to welcome back all alumni including the Class of 1966 who will be celebrating their 50 year reunion. This year’s Homecoming festivities also reach beyond campus and into the community, with 15 businesses in Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg participating in a Paint the Town competition.

All activities listed below are open to the public:

Wednesday, October 12

Drag Show – “American Glamour Story: Drag Show”

7 p.m., Keystone Room

Cost: $5 VIP tickets, $2 general admission tickets can be purchased at the door.

Proceeds benefit ESU PRIDE Club.

Thursday, October 13

Pie an Athlete

12 to 4 p.m., University Center Courtyard

Cost: $1 per pie

Proceeds benefit Make a Wish Foundation (NCAA Division II’s official charity).

Friday, October 14

Remembrance Day

2 p.m., Beers Lecture Hall

ESU celebrates the lives of students, faculty and staff who passed away this past academic year.

Midnight Madness

6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Koehler Fieldhouse

Events include entertainment by the ESU Step Team, a slam dunk competition, and a first look at the 2016-17 Women’s and Men’s Basketball Teams.

Bonfire and Homecoming Royalty

8:30 to 10:00 p.m., Rugby Field

Events include a pep rally with ESU athletic teams and coaches, the ESU marching band and cheerleaders and food trucks. The 2016 Homecoming Royalty will be announced.

Saturday, October 15

Athletic Hall of Fame Induction

9 a.m., Keystone Room

ESU Warriors will honor eight individuals and one team as the 39th class to enter the Athletic Hall of Fame.

Cost:  $45 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under and can be obtained through ESU’s athletics website, esuwarriors.com.

Carnival

12 p.m. to 6 p.m., Koehler Fieldhouse Lawn

ESU Women’s Soccer vs. Seton Hill

12 noon, Eiler-Martin Stadium

Cost: $10 for an all-day pass to each of the four athletic match-ups

ESU Field Hockey vs. Seton Hill

1 p.m., Whitenight Field

Cost: $10 for an all-day pass to each of the four athletic match ups, or $5 for a ticket to just the field hockey game.

ESU Men’s Soccer vs. Seton Hill

2:30 p.m., Eiler-Martin Stadium

Cost: $10 for an all-day pass to each of the four athletic match-ups

ESU Football vs. Kutztown

7:05 p.m., Eiler-Martin Stadium

Cost: $10 for an all-day pass to each of the four athletic match-ups
