East Stroudsburg University’s Student Senate is hosting its 14th annual Teddy Bear Drive on Saturday, December 7, at 11 a.m. in the Keystone Room.
The event is expected to draw approximately 70 community members, including those in need. Members of Student Senate invite families to play games with them before Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus arrive and distribute gifts and teddy bears, some of which may have been gently used and were collected by Student Senate, to the children. There will also be crafts, coloring books, and entertainment by characters such as SpongeBob, Teletubbies and Mike from Monsters, Inc. In addition, the children will get to enjoy cookies, brownies and hot chocolate.
“It’s something that I appreciate,” Kwaku Adjei-Bohyen, vice president of Student Senate, said. “Knowing that we can help is something that I find gratifying.”
The event, which is expected to draw more participants than in the past, is currently filled to capacity. For more information, contact Student Senate adviser John Robinson at 570-422-3607 or jrobinson@esu.edu.
