East Stroudsburg University graduate students Ashlee Acosta and George McFadden presented their research at the 86th Convention of the Pennsylvania Communication Association, held September 18-19 at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.

Acosta received second place in the Graduate Writing Competition for her paper “Fragments of Memory: A Rhetorical Analysis of Only Yesterday.” “What started as a class project, became an opportunity to share my research with communication scholars and graduate students from across Pennsylvania,” she said. “Presenting at the PCA conference was both exciting and rewarding, and it was especially meaningful to see a project that I had worked so hard on receive this recognition.”

McFadden received third place for his paper “Content Creation Project: Senator John Fetterman.” “I was honored to receive third place in the graduate writing competition, and it was especially meaningful to share the experience with my fellow Warriors, Ashlee Acosta and Dr. Cem Zeytinoglu, who chaired the session,” he said. McFadden also presented a poster titled “What Does ‘No Kings’ Mean?’ An Ideological Criticism of a Paired Protest-Sign Artifact.”
