East Stroudsburg University will hold the 10th Annual Language Educators Workshop on Friday, October 25, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The theme for this year’s workshop is “Serving Heritage Speakers: Strategies, Resources, Teaching.”

This event will provide curricular models, materials and discussions around K-16 language learners who speak a non-English language at home. These students, known as heritage speakers, are best served by instructional sequences that are marked by cultural and linguistic adjustments, as compared to traditional world language courses. Heritage speaker courses are an exciting opportunity to improve and enrich language instruction for a significant, growing constituency in schools today.

The workshop will be held in Room 336 of the ESU Innovation Center, 562 Independence Road, East Stroudsburg. Cost for the workshop is $30 and includes lunch. Registration: esu.edu/language_educator_workshop.
