ESU to Host Governor’s Advisory Commissions Panel Discussion

East Stroudsburg University’s Center for Multicultural Affairs and Inclusive Education, Gender and Sexuality Center, and ESU Health and Wellness will host Governor Josh Shapiro’s Advisory Commission on African American Affairs and Advisory Commission on Women for a panel discussion on Tuesday, October 1 at 6:30 p.m. in Beers Lecture Hall.
The panel will address critical issues affecting African American and women, such as Black Maternal Health, the CROWN Act, and Menstrual Equity. The panelists will be Lynette Medley, Founder/CEO, No More Secrets MBS Inc., Co-Founder, The SPOT Period, GACW Commissioner; Dr. Sharee Livingston, Chair of the ObGyn, Department at UPMC Lititz; Sara Goulet, Special Advisor to the Secretary, PA Department of Human Services; and Shidae Jones, a senior from Philadelphia, Pa., majoring in public health and diversity and inclusion chair of ESU’s Student Government Association. Christa Caceres, Pike County Commissioner will be the panel moderator.
This discussion aims to foster meaningful exchanges between elected officials, community leaders, and attendees, highlighting the urgency of these topics.
The discussion is open to the public at no cost. Registration is encouraged.
