East Stroudsburg University will host Holocaust survivor Hershel Greenblat in a virtual presentation entitled Remembering the Holocaust on Wednesday, Nov. 17.

Greenblat was born in 1941 while his parents found refuge hiding from the Nazis in Ukraine’s extensive network of caves. He credits his family’s survival to the resourcefulness and determination of his parents in evading the Nazis. After the end of World War II, his family spent years living in displaced persons camps before getting permission to relocate to America in 1950, where they settled in Atlanta, Georgia. Greenblat tells his story to keep his family’s memory alive, and the memory of those who perished in the Holocaust.

Greenblat’s presentation will be given via Zoom on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. This event, co-sponsored by ESU’s department business management and the American Society for Yad Vashem, is open to the public at no cost. To register, please visit esu.edu/multicultural.
