East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania will host an Interreligious Dialogue Workshop titled “Learning from Barriers and Building a Bridge.” The workshop will take place on Wednesday, April 4 from 4 – 6 p.m. in the Niedbala Auditorium located inside Warren E. & Sandra Hoeffner Science and Technology Center.
The two-hour workshop will include speakers Rabbi Melody Davis of Temple Covenant of Peace in Easton, Rev. Jerry Shantillo of The Church of Saint Matthew in East Stroudsburg, and Br. Wazir Muttaqi of Stroudsburg Islamic Center. After the speakers participants will share their interreligious dialogue experience.
This workshop will aim to provide participants including ESU students, faculty, staff and members of the surrounding community an opportunity to engage in interreligious dialogue activities; foster and develop practical thinking on how to live harmoniously and peacefully with neighbors of different religions; and promote awareness of diverse religious people in daily life and inclusion among them for a harmonious community life.
The workshop will be hosted by the ESU Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and the department of modern languages, philosophy and religion through sponsorship from the ESU Foundation and the Office of the Provost Office.
