ESU to Host Spring Choral Concert

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s A Cappella Ensemble and Concert Choir will give their final performances at a Spring Choral Concert Wednesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall of the Fine and Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg.
Guest soloists Ruth Kochera, piano, and Chris Souza, violin, will be featured in a program including music of many languages and centuries. The concert is open to the public at no cost.
Selections to be presented by the A Cappella Ensemble include: Il est bel et bon by Passereau; Samuel Barber’s To Be Sung on the Water; Come Again! Sweet Love by Dowland; and the spiritual, Soon-Ah Will Be Done.
The Concert Choir will perform Handel’s From the East Unto the West; Promise of Living by Copland; Pieta by Reed Criddle; The Girl I Left Behind Me and other works. Both groups are under the direction of Dr. James Maroney, associate professor of music.
