East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania will be offering a new master’s concentration in the management and leadership program starting in fall 2016, catered to students interested in both psychology, communication studies and business management. The addition of the management and leadership in organizational behavior will provide students with a Master of Science with a business focus within a multidisciplinary program. Students enrolling in this program will be required to take classes in communication studies, business, psychology, and digital media technologies.

“This concentration will give students a broader skillset and help expand their options as they prepare to enter a diverse workforce,” Sheila Handy, Ph.D., professor and chair of business management, said.

Students will be able to understand how business works from a psychological standpoint, according to Anthony Drago, Ed.D., professor and chair of psychology.

“Organizational behavior studies the impact individuals, groups, and structures have on human behavior within an organization,” he said. “This is an interdisciplinary field that includes management, psychology, and communications. Concepts such as leadership, decision making, motivation, company culture, and job satisfaction are all facets of organizational behavior.”

The program requires the completion of 33 credits and will conclude with either an internship or culminating project/thesis. The College of Business and Management also offers a M.S. in sport management.
