East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s student gospel choir, The Voices of Triumph, will host its spring concert on Saturday, April 25, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the Cecilia S. Cohen Recital Hall, located in the University’s Fine and Performing Arts Center.
The event will feature musical and dance performances by ESU’s Praise Team and guest artists including choirs from Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Punxsutawney Divine Praise Gospel Choir, Precious Voices Children’s Gospel Choir, Ebenezer Baptist Church Praise Team, Milan Credle, Robin Smith ’04, and many more. The concert is part of the Voices of Triumph annual performance series which will celebrate “Know Jesus, Know Peace” as this spring’s theme.
Tambria Lee, a graduating senior majoring in communication studies from Levittown, Pa., says this concert will be a bittersweet experience. She has been a member of The Voices of Triumph since Fall of 2011. This past year, she also served as the president.
“I really love ESU and the person that I have developed into based on all of my experiences here,” she said. “I have tried to remain involved in different activities but my best experience has been with the gospel choir — as a group, we operate as a family and I do love singing for the Lord.”
The event is open to the general public at no cost. For more information, contact Kizzy Morris, club adviser for the ESU Voices of Triumph choir, at kmorris@esu.edu.
