Ghazi Alsharif, an international graduate student at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, wants the entire campus to take a visit around the world.

Alsharif, who will graduate with his M.Ed. in instructional technology in December, organized International Student Day, which will take place in the Keystone Room on Tuesday, December 2 from 2-4 p.m.

On this day, students, faculty, staff and the general public are invited to enjoy presentations given by ESU international students on their home countries. Presentations will include Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Haiti, China and Indonesia.

“As an ambassador for my home country, Saudi Arabia, I find it important to bring my perspective to the American people and share my culture with the general public and our students,” Alsharif said.

People in attendance will learn about each individual country’s culture, history, geography, and food.

“This is an opportunity to learn about the different cultures represented by our international student community,” Michael Laffey, coordinator of international programs at ESU, said. “It’s especially important for our American students who may not have a chance to travel outside of the U.S.”

This event is open to the public and it is free of charge. Light refreshments will be served.
