ESU Welcomes Families to Campus and the Pocono Region

Area residents are invited to join members of theEast Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania campus community for Family Weekend festivities, Friday, September 26, through Sunday, September 28. Weekend events are intended to welcome students’ families to ESU and to acquaint them with businesses and activities within the greater Pocono region. While some events throughout the weekend are exclusive to ESU students and their families, a number of activities on Saturday, September 27, are open to the general public at no cost unless otherwise noted:
Saturday, September 27
Classic Car Show
10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Front Circle of Campus
Classic car enthusiasts can expect a great show of collector cars provided by the Monroe County Cruisers.
LizTech Jewelry Exhibit and Sale
10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Dansbury Commons
Experience the charm and whimsy of custom-designed jewelry by the legendary LizTech Gallery. Each piece is individually handmade and unique. The exhibit and sale will highlight many selections, including the ESU president’s “Great Expectations” inauguration pin and the ESU Martin Luther King Day celebratory pin.
ESU Band Rehearsal
11 a.m. – noon, Eiler-Martin Stadium
Catch the Warrior spirit as the ESU marching band produces great vibrations, demonstrations and sensations as it performs on campus for your entertainment!
Warrior Fan Zone
Begins at 9 a.m., Centre Street Parking Lot (Between Rosenkrans and Zimbar-Liljenstein Halls)
Calling all Warrior Fans: Enjoy live music, face painting, and the always-popular Stuff-A-Plush activity, sponsored by the Campus Activities Board (inclement weather location for Stuff-a-Plush: University Center). Warrior Cheerleaders, ESU’s#1 Fan: Burgy, and University leadership, will all be on hand.
ESU Football and Pocono Mountain East (PME) High School/ESU band performance
3:05 p.m. vs. Lock Haven Eagles, The RED-Out Game!
Eiler-Martin Stadium
Wear your red and cheer on the Warriors as they take on Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania. ESU’s Parent Scholarship recipients will be recognized during the game. Also, sit back and enjoy the performances by the PME H.S. Marching Band and the ESU Marching Band during the football game and at halftime. PME presents music of “Back to the Classics” playing music of rock bands from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and ESU will relive the life of a Gangster in Memoirs of a Gangster.General admission tickets for the game are $10, tickets for the reserved, chair-back seating area in front of the Eiler-Martin Stadium press box are $15, and tickets for seniors age 65 or older and children under 12 are $5.
