ESU’s McMunn Planetarium Hosting Double Feature Sky Show, May 1

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania invites the public to attend a double feature sky showat 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, May 1 at the McMunn Planetarium, which is located on the ground floor of the Hoeffner Science and Technology Center. At 7 p.m. the audience will view “Little Star that Could,” which is a children’s show that depicts the life of an “average” star, Sol, searching for other planets. It will educate the audience on other stars, galaxies, planets and clusters. The show at 8 p.m. will feature an in-house produced sky show titled “Stars of Spring” followed by a feature show titled “Black Holes.” The “Stars of Spring” program explores the constellations seen during the spring months.  The feature show, “Black Holes,” explores the dark world of a black hole and its life in space.

The programs are open to the general public. Registration is required for all attendees including ESU students. Adults are $6 per person, seniors and children ages 5 to 17 are $4 per person, and children under 5 are admitted free of charge.  ESU students with a valid I.D. are admitted free. Those registering for the planetarium shows will also have an opportunity to visit the Schisler Museum of Wildlife and Natural History, also located in the Hoeffner Science and Technology Center, one hour prior to their viewing of the planetarium show.  Registrants for the 7 p.m. show will have an opportunity to visit the Schisler Museum from 6 to 7 p.m. and those attending the 8 p.m. show may visit the museum from 7 to 8 p.m. To register visit http://quantumnew.esu.edu/museum/.
