ESU’s Office of Workforce Development Named ETS-Praxis-Testing Center

Students, faculty, staff and the public can now access, register and take professional education certification tests required by many states and professional licensing organizations at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, which was named an ETS Certified Test Administration Site (CTAS) effective Friday, August 29, 2014. The testing center is located in the ESU Innovation Center (Computer Lab 153) located at 562 Independence Road in East Stroudsburg, Pa. ETS-Praxis computer based exams will be offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
Professional testing is available in the following areas: TOEFL iBT® test, the Texas Examinations of Educator Standards™ (TExES™) computer-administered tests, the Texas Examinations for Master Teachers™ (TExMaT™) Master Technology Teacher (MTT) test, the Praxis Series™ tests and the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators® (GACE®). To register for an exam visit http://www.ets.org/praxis/ and follow the appropriate links to register. Participants will be required to create an account, and once an exam is selected, East Stroudsburg University should be identified as the testing site.
Terry Barry, Ed.D., interim dean of ESU’s college of education, said, “East Stroudsburg University’s faculty prepares hundreds of students for teaching careers. Students can now take and pass their exams here on campus, in a timely fashion, in order to meet professional certification requirements across the United States.”
“Research and Economic Development’s Office of Workforce Development launched Pearson VUE Testing Services in the fall of 2013 and has administered more than 180 exams in the last seven months,” said Sharone Glasco, director of workforce development. “We are equally pleased to expand and launch ETS Praxis Testing services as part of the learning experience at ESU. Our facility offers a state-of-the-art computer-based testing lab in a secure environment, flexible scheduling, and instant results,” added Glasco.
