At a reception at East Stroudsburg University on October 1, 10 German teacher education students presented on the fundamentals of the German education system and shared insights they have gained from their observations in American classrooms.

ESU hosted the German students through the German Teacher Educator pilot, a program designed to support a comparative study of global education.

German students come to the United States to experience American classrooms and explore the American education system.

Through ESU’s Office of Field Experience and Partnerships as well as International Programs, the German students observed classrooms at Stroudsburg High School, East Stroudsburg High School South, and JT Lambert Intermediate School.

The students were also paired with peers studying education at ESU to be able to discuss and better understand the differences between the two systems of education.

During the presentation, the German students presented to students majoring in education at ESU, mentors and administrators from the schools they’ve observed in, and ESU faculty and administrators.
