Homecoming Weekend Festivities Set for East Stroudsburg University

East Stroudsburg University invites alumni, students, faculty, staff, and community members to celebrate Homecoming 2022. An exciting weekend packed with activities kicks off on Friday, October 14 at 6 p.m. with Warrior Madness in Memory of Ryan Smith in Koehler Fieldhouse followed by the annual Homecoming bonfire. The bonfire will take place at 8 p.m. on the rugby field behind Dansbury Commons.

The Alumni Association welcomes back all alumni, including the classes of 1972 celebrating their 50-year reunion. All alumni will have the opportunity to visit campus and participate in the annual alumni tailgate. Homecoming activities are not limited to campus, local businesses in Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg are also getting in on the festivities with Paint the Town. Art + Design students from ESU will paint the windows of local participating businesses to show their warrior spirit.

All activities listed below are open to the public:

Tuesday, October 11

Homecoming Royalty Court Reveal and Rally

5 p.m., Dansbury Commons Dining Hall

Cost: ESU faculty and staff without a meal plan, $8.91; Community members $10.21

Friday, October 14

Remembrance Day Ceremony

11 a.m., Stroud Henge (Front of Campus)

Warrior Madness in Memory of Ryan Smith- Basketball

6:00 p.m., Koehler Fieldhouse

Along with the basketball team introductions, a 3-point contest and dunk contest will take place in the annual first look at both squads prior to their first official practice.

Bonfire

8:00 p.m., Pit Rugby Field (behind Dansbury Commons)

Events include a pep rally to celebrate ESU fall sports, food trucks, crowning of ESU royalty, and the annual Homecoming Bonfire.

Saturday, October 15

Fan Zone and Marketplace

10:30-2 p.m., Front walkway of Stroud Hall

Local businesses and crafters as well as student organizations and student-run businesses will be on hand to greet Warriors fans and showcase their works and talents.

ESU Football vs. West Chester

2:05 p.m., Eiler-Martin Stadium (Gates open at 12:05)

Cost: $15 chairback tickets, $10 general admission, $5 seniors/children under 12

Black Student Union Blackout Homecoming Showcase

8 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.), Abeloff Center for the Performing arts

musical acts D4M $loan (headliner), 2Rare, Lay Banks, and Bril

Cost: $5 for students and $15 for alumni and community
