Jack Truschel, ESU Professor, Department Chair of Academic Enrichment and Learning, Elected CLADEA Chair

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania’s Jack Truschel, Ed.D., Psy.D., professor and chair of academic enrichment and learning, has been elected Chair of the Council of Learning Assistance and Developmental Education Associations (CLADEA).
Truschel was officially elected for his two-year term April 24 during the CLADEA spring meeting at the 40th Annual Conference of the Association of Colleges for Tutoring and Learning Assistance in Anaheim, Calif. He has served as president of the Association for the Tutoring Profession and the National College Learning Center Association. In addition, he has been the CLADEA voting representative for both associations and served as CLADEA vice chairman. In 2009, Truschel was inducted as CLADEA Fellow.
The Council represents thousands of professionals through CLADEA’s six member organizations that include Association of Colleges for Tutoring and Learning Assistance (ACTLA), Association for the Tutoring Profession (ATP), College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), National Association for Developmental Education (NADE), National Center for Developmental Education (NCDE), and National College Learning Center Association (NCLCA). The mission of the council is “to foster mutual support among national and international organizations dedicated to post secondary learning assistance or developmental education”.
