East Stroudsburg University’s Provost’s Colloquium Series, an intellectual experience that promotes dialogue among ESU faculty, staff, students, and community, continues this spring with a presentation by Ahmed Yousof, Ph.D., assistant professor of digital media technologies. The presentation “Pedagogy of Play” will take place on Wednesday, February 5 at 5:30 p.m. in Beers Lecture Hall. The lecture is open to the public at no cost.
“Pedagogy of Play” aims to turn students from passive learners, or gamers, into productive learners who creatively design and control their learning experience. Dr. Yousof will lead an interactive workshop on using “serious play” as a pedagogical tool in the classroom to promote critical thinking and innovation. Serious play is defined as active engagement that is pleasurable for its own sake and includes a make-believe quality. The hands-on workshop will inform how to use serious play to teach students about communication, creative and artful thinking, and problem-solving techniques. LEGO Education® Bricks will be used with participants to experience the basic phases of serious play including challenge, build, and share.

Hi Christina,
Is it OK if I bring my whole class group (about 20 students)? I think this conference can be very interesting for all of them (since they are education students).
Wait for your news,
