The COVID-19 pandemic continues to create challenges and opportunities for the ESU community, as well as globally. This presentation will share Dr. Garrison’s teaching and learning experiences during the academic year 2020-21 while being immersed in the island culture of Roatan, Honduras during the pandemic. Garrison will display video and photographs while telling vivid, engaging, and humorous stories to share her experiences. Topics to be explored include day-to-day living, education, politics, religion, holidays, families, geography, weather, plants and animals, food, language, architecture, COVID protocols, poverty and the devastated tourism economy, and legal and medical experiences.
