Provost’s Colloquium Series Presents The Power of Technology in the Arts

East Stroudsburg University’s Provost’s Colloquium Series, an intellectual experience that promotes dialogue among ESU faculty, staff, students, and community, continues with a presentation by Darlene Farris-LaBar, professor of art + design, Chris Domanski, associate professor of theatre, and David Mazure, associate professor of art + design. The presentation “The Power of Technology in the Arts” will take place on Wednesday, November 6 at 5:30 p.m. in Beers Lecture Hall. The lecture is open to the public at no cost.

The art + design and theatre departments will collaborate in a panel presentation that showcases the many ways technology is being used as a creative and expressive tool more frequently in the arts around the world. Tools such as digital paint, animation, stage design, three-dimensional modeling programs, wearable technology, video projection, interactive media, and 3D printers are being used to enhance the process and experience for both the artist and the audience. Faculty will present their individual areas of study during a panel discussion and entertain the audience through a large-scale video projection, sound, and wearable 3D printed or laser cut technology that will be provided to the audience.
