East Stroudsburg University student Stephanie Kucan, a junior psychology major from Wood Ridge, N.J., completed a prestigious internship at Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida during the fall 2018 semester. Kucan was chosen to take part in the competitive Disney College Program, a program in which students get the opportunity to work at Walt Disney World, as well as meet cast members and other leaders for the purposes of networking and discussing potential job opportunities. Through the Disney College Program, students gain on-the-job experience, along with the opportunity to enroll in various personal- and career-development courses, all while learning important, resume-enhancing skills applicable to their future careers, such as relationship building, problem-solving, teamwork, and written and verbal communication. In addition, students get to meet and live with people from all across the United States, and potentially from across the globe.

“The experiences that I had during my internship not only taught me a lot about the business of the Walt Disney Company, but it taught me a lot about myself too,” Kucan said. “I highly encourage anyone who meets the requirements to look into the different programs and give it a try. It was truly a wonderful experience that I will never forget. The memories you take back home with you will last a lifetime.”

Kucan completed this internship under the guidance of her faculty supervisor, Reneé Boburka, Ph.D., professor of psychology. For more information, please contact Dr. Boburka at rboburka@esu.edu.
