Once again, Sigma Phi Omega, the gerontology honor society at East Stroudsburg University, is hosting a food drive for the pets of Meals on Wheels recipients. The Sigma Phi Omega Pet Food Drive is for individuals who are usually homebound and cannot make it to the pet store to buy food.
“The purpose of this donation drive is to collect pet food for those who cannot buy it themselves,” says of Elaine Shuey, Ph.D., professor and chair of communication sciences and disorders. “Our students, faculty, and staff have always been supportive of this effort.”
The honor society will be collecting donations in Monroe Hall, room 224 until 2 p.m. on November 20. Donations can be any wet or dry cat or dog food, bagged or canned. Individual bags and should weigh less than 20 pounds.
For more information on the Sigma Phi Omega Pet Food Drive contact Dr. Shuey at 570-422-3681 or email eshuey@esu.edu. For more information about Monroe County Meals on Wheels visit monroemeals.com.
