‘Student Success’ Theme Opens 4th Season of Infinite Opportunities With ESU Graduate

Graduates of East Stroudsburg and California Universities of Pennsylvania will talk about how their college experiences helped prepare them for career success when the fourth season of Infinite Opportunities premieres at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, on the Pennsylvania Cable Network (PCN).

The Season 4 debut episode also will include video visits to the campuses of Lock Haven, Shippensburg and West Chester Universities of Pennsylvania, as the program answers the question: “Why a State System University?”

Infinite Opportunities airs at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday on PCN. The half-hour, public affairs program features roundtable discussions with faculty, staff, students and alumni from the 14 State System universities talking about a range of higher education topics and issues.

State System Interim Chancellor Karen M. Whitney will moderate the weekly discussions. Each program also will offer viewers the opportunity to “travel” back to the universities to learn more about how they address the various topics on campus.

In this week’s episode, Drew Johnson, who earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication with a concentration in public communication and advocacy from East Stroudsburg University; and Justin Leader, who received a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in exercise science from Cal U., will discuss how their degrees prepared them for successful careers.

Stephanie Franks-Helwich, dean of Cal U.’s graduate admissions and Global Online programs, also will participate in the discussion. Global Online offers students the opportunity to enroll in courses and programs online, from virtually anywhere, at any time.

Each weekly episode of Infinite Opportunities is reshown at 6 p.m. the following Saturday on PCN. This program will be rebroadcast on Jan. 13. Prior episodes, including those from the first three seasons, also can be viewed at www.passhe.edu/InfiniteOpportunities.

Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education is the largest provider of higher education in the Commonwealth, enrolling more than 100,000 degree-seeking students and thousands more in certificate and other career-development programs. Collectively, the 14 universities that comprise the State System offer more than 2,300 degree and certificate programs in more than 530 academic areas. Nearly 520,000 State System university alumni live in Pennsylvania.

The State System universities are Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock and West Chester Universities of Pennsylvania. The universities also operate branch campuses in Oil City (Clarion), Freeport and Punxsutawney (IUP), and Clearfield (Lock Haven), and offer classes and programs at several regional centers, including the Dixon University Center in Harrisburg and in Center City in Philadelphia.
