On Thursday, March 22 East Stroudsburg University will host the ESU Timeless Women Expo and Lecture. The event is hosted by ESU Feminist Alliance and co-sponsored by The Political Science Club, The ESU Chapter of the National Council of Negro Women, and the ESU Queens of Color Organization.

The Expo will highlight women in various industries including biology, sports and politics – fields that are typically male dominated. Each participant in the expo will have a display table highlighting and celebrating women in their particular area of study and work.

The lecture will be presented by Dr. Sue Mukhergee, assistant vice chancellor for educational intelligence for Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education. The presentation, “Women in Pa.’s 21st Century Workforce” will provide data on the impact of women in Pennsylvania’s workforce and discuss the requisite skills necessary to remain successful in the ever-changing workplace.

Dr. Mukhergee is commissioner for one of Governor Wolf’s affinity groups, Asian American Pacific Islanders. She has also worked with the Pennsylvania First Lady’s office and will have a greeting from Mrs. Wolf recognizing the essential work of women and the ESU Feminist Alliance.

The ESU Timeless Women Expo and Lecture will be held on the second floor of the University Center on ESU’s campus. The Expo will begin at 6 p.m. in room 219. The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. in the student senate chambers. The expo and lecture are free and open to the public.
