The Troiani-Sweeney Endowed Fund Lecture Series at ESU was held in the Niedbala Auditorium on Thursday, March 22. This year’s keynote address by Jane McDevitt ‘01, Ph.D., was titled “The Evidence Based Approach to Concussion Care.” The lecture also included a demonstration of the new Riddell InSite football helmets worn by the ESU Warriors by athletic trainers Colleen Shotwell Ph.D. and Jayme Galdieri. Now in its fourth year, the Troiani-Sweeney Endowed Fund Lecture Series at ESU was developed by graduates Linda (Troiani)’83 and Sam Niedbala ’82 to honor Linda’s sister, Yvonne Troiani Sweeney’78. Yvonne is a 1978 graduate of ESU who dedicated her life to her nursing career that spanned 30 years until she was diagnosed with a form of early onset dementia called posterior cortical atrophy.
