Applications Now Available for Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. After 81 years of serving higher education, Who’s Who remains one of the most highly regarded and long-standing honors program in the nation. Those selected for Who’s Who are juniors, seniors or graduate students, and active participants in collegiate extra curricular activities or active in the community and maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA. If you would like to be considered for East Stroudsburg University’s 2015 Who’s Who, you can pick up an application from the Student Activity Association Office on the second floor of the University Center. Deadline for returning completed applications is Friday, October 17.

University Leadership/University Service Award Applications Now Available for Students Graduating December, 2014. These awards are the highest non-academic honors a graduating senior can receive for their work as a leader in extra curricular activities on campus or who participate in activities and services on and off-campus. Applications are available from the Student Activity Association Office on the second floor of the University Center and must be returned by Friday, October 17. For those graduating in May 2015, there will be another application process with a March 20, 2015 deadline.

ESU’s Department of Political Science and the American Democracy Project (ADP) will host a Debate for Pennsylvania’s 115th District House of Representative Candidates at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, October 15 in Beers Lecture Hall. The debate will feature Republican David Parker and Democrat Maureen Madden, the candidates for the newly created 115th District of Pennsylvania House of Representatives. ESU’s Diwali – Festival of Lights Featuring Food, Music, Song and Dance, at 5:30 PM, Saturday, October 18, in the Keystone Room. Admission to Diwali Night ’14 is $20 for the general public and $7 for children ages 4 to 11. Tickets for ESU employees are $12. Advance ticket purchase is recommended due to limited seating for the event. ESU’s Athletic Training Department Hosts Michael Lynch, New York Chiropractic College at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 22 in Koehler Fieldhouse, Room 205. Mr. Lynch has been the Director of Admissions at NYCC for 17 years. In his visit to ESU, he will discuss several aspects of the chiropractic profession including educational requirements, career opportunities and its role in the overall health care system. He will also provide an overview of the academic program at NYCC. The public is invited at no cost. Professors, National Experts, will Hold a Round-table Discussion to Talk About U.S. – European Union Trade Agreements, at 6:00 PM, Thursday, October 23 at the Lehigh Valley Center, 60 West Broad Street, Bethlehem, Pa. The agreement, if approved, could potentially lead to an increase of

Upward Bound Invites the Campus Community to Celebrate 40 Years on the ESU Campus from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, October 24 at the Innovation Center, 3rd Floor Conference Room. The event is open to the public at no cost.

ESU Residence Halls Invite Children to “Trick or Treat through the Halls” from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 29. Trick-or- treaters will meet at 6:00 PM on the University Quad. The event is open to all elementary aged children in the community at no cost. Children who participate are asked to wear their costumes and bring a trick-or-treat bag. Parents or guardians are required to accompany children to campus and must remain present, whether they choose to escort their children through the residence halls or wait in a common area while the event takes place. Groups of children will be escorted from hall to hall by student volunteers from the education department and various campus organizations. Participating halls and residents will hand out treats from their dorm rooms and lobbies. Secondary Education Majors – Screening dates for the 2014 fall semester have been set and are Tuesday, November 4 and Wednesday, November 5. Sign up by appointment only in Stroud 209, PSED Office. You must appear in person to make an appointment in order to confirm that you have met the proper graduate and undergraduate requirements.

Speech-Language Pathology Graduate Student Open House, 1:00 to 4:00 PM Friday, November 7, in Monroe Hall. Tickets Now on Sale for the Fourth Annual Zoot Fest Honoring Jazz Legends Al Cohn and Zoot Sims, noon to 6:00 PM Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Innovation Center, located at 562 Independence Road in East Stroudsburg. Zoot Fest festivities will include performances and panel discussions relative to a variety of jazz musicians, offering insight into the history of jazz and the diversity in the genre’s music. Seating for this event is limited and tickets are now on sale at $50 per person ($25 per ESU student with valid identifi cation), which includes the program, lunch and refreshments. Join Sharon Husbands and her crew of professional and student Queens and Kings for a fabulously entertaining evening of glitz and glamour! Help the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Ally Program Center and ESU’s LGBTQA student organization, PRIDE, raise funds to benefi t Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) of Monroe County. The march will feature some campus all-stars, including President Welsh, distinguished alumni, and the homecoming king and queen.

Cheer on the Warriors as they take on the Kutztown Golden Bears. Halftime features recognition of the Athletic Hall of Fame inductees and a marching band performance. General admission tickets for the game are $10. Tickets for reserved chair back seating area in front of the Eiler-Martin Stadium press box are $15, and tickets for seniors ages 65 or older and children under 12 are $5.This game is a whiteout. We encourage you to wear WHITE.
