East Stroudsburg University’s annual Warrior Yard Sale on June 6 collected the largest total in its eight-year history, raising $4,014 towards addressing student food insecurity on campus.

Held each summer since 2019, the Warrior Yard Sale raises funds for the University’s Warrior Food Pantry through the sale of items donated by students as they move off campus at the end of the academic year.

The Warrior Food Pantry, located just off campus at St. Matthew’s Church on Ridgeway Street, allows students to obtain food, toiletries and other supplies necessary to their well-being at no cost. Its services are open to all currently registered ESU students.

The $4,014 raised during the event was the largest total since the inaugural sale in 2019. Including this year’s tally, a total of $15,714 has been raised through the Warrior Yard Sale.

The yard sale is entirely volunteer run, with ESU students, faculty and staff pitching in to sort through donated goods, move boxes, load trucks, and assist on the day of the event. Volunteers put in over 700 total hours in support of this year’s event.

The Warrior Food Pantry is open during the academic year on Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m. at St. Matthew’s, 78 Ridgeway Street, East Stroudsburg, Pa., 18301. A valid student eCard is required to access services.
