East Stroudsburg University\u2019s Faculty Development and Research (FDR) Grants Committee will present its annual fall poster event on Thursday, November 13, from noon – 3 p.m. in the main lobby of the Warren E. \u201955 and Sandra Hoeffner Science and Technology Center. The display is open to the public and is free of charge.<\/p>\n
This event offers ESU faculty members who received travel grants or mini grants from the FDR Committee the opportunity to present, in poster form, the results of their funded research.<\/p>\n
Presenters include LuAnn Batson-Magnuson, Ph.D., assistant professor of Speech-Language Pathology, whose presentation is titled \u201cPhonological and Non-Phonological Language Skills as Predictors of 1st<\/sup> Grade Reading Performance.\u201d<\/p>\n Nurun Begum, Ph.D., associate professor of Early Childhood and Elementary Education, will present \u201cTeaching Philosophy and Past Experience of Future Teachers: Does It Matter?\u201d Stanley Li-Ming Chiang, Ph.D., assistant professor of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management, will present \u201cCirculating Progenitor Cells Decrease Immediately after High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in Healthy Individuals\u201d and Patricia Kennedy, Ph.D., associate professor of Communication Studies, will present \u201cFostering Sustainable Behavior.\u201d<\/p>\n The main lobby becomes a temporary visual repository of research from an array of academic departments. It will showcase FDR-funded scholarship produced from Fall 2013 through Summer 2014.<\/p>\n The university\u2019s FDR grant initiative is funded by the Office of the Provost. The committee\u2019s charge is to distribute funds to university faculty members in order to advance the professional development of those faculty members. The fall poster event offers visitors from the ESU community a way to learn about research conducted by faculty members.<\/p>\n
