East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is celebrating Women\u2019s History Month with a series of events, beginning on March 16. This year\u2019s theme will focus on honoring women in the past, present and future. Highlights of Women\u2019s History Month include looking into 20-time Grammy award winner Beyonc\u00e9 stance on women\u2019s empowerment and a discussion about hip-hop\u2019s influence on today\u2019s generation specific to world-renowned hip-hop artist Drake. The activities listed below are open to the public at no cost and the schedule is subject to change. Honest Conversations: Exercising Their Rights<\/strong> Join us to discuss women\u2019s role in modern day activism. This program will be a group discussion about the role women have played in activism in the past, present, and in the future.<\/p>\n Beyonc\u00e9: The Feminist <\/strong> This program will take an in depth look into Beyonc\u00e9\u2019s stance on women\u2019s empowerment and how she essentially reclaimed the \u201cF\u201d word. There will also be a group discussion about the role of the women\u2019s rights movement and the work that has been done in the past and the obstacles and opportunities we face moving forward.<\/p>\n Drake: Too Soft For Men<\/strong> This program will be a group discussion about hip hop\u2019s influence on today\u2019s generation and essentially the meaning of masculinity. Also, we will discuss what happens when a male does not seem to fit the ideal image or embody the characteristics of a \u201cmanly man.\u201d<\/p>\n Been There, Done That. Keeping it Real.<\/strong> Experienced women come together for a panel discussion with The Greater Section, National Council of Negro Women, Inc.<\/p>\n The Line<\/strong> This personal documentary explores sexual boundaries and consent.
