The 5K is a fundraiser for Autism Speaks U.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and possible cure for Autism,\u201d Maria Parri, a senior majoring in speech-language pathology from Shavertown, Pa., said. \u201cWe strive to raise public awareness for Autism and its effect on individuals and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Autism Speaks U has been a student organization at ESU for the last two years. Students joined together to change the future for all who struggle with an autism spectrum disorder, according to Parri.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is our firm belief that working together, we will make a difference,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>This event is open to the public. Registration is $10 per person. T-shirts are $10 each. For students who present their ESU ID, registration is $5.
