{"id":12538,"date":"2015-07-02T08:20:28","date_gmt":"2015-07-02T12:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/quantumnew.esu.edu\/insider\/?p=12538"},"modified":"2015-07-02T08:20:28","modified_gmt":"2015-07-02T12:20:28","slug":"television-series-featuring-esu-premiers-on-pcn-july-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quantum.esu.edu\/insider\/television-series-featuring-esu-premiers-on-pcn-july-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Television Series Featuring ESU Premiers on PCN, July 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania will make its television debut this weekend as a part of \u201cInfinite Opportunities,\u201d a half-hour, public affairs program featuring Pennsylvania\u2019s State System of Higher Education universities, which will premiere at 2 p.m., Sunday, on the Pennsylvania Cable Network.<\/p>\n<p>The first episode will include an interview with Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D., president of East Stroudsburg University, and State System Chancellor Frank T. Brogan. The two will discuss the 3D design and additive manufacturing initiative at the university and the creation of the Institute of Public Health Research and Innovation at ESU, which collaborates with health service professionals throughout the region to develop solutions to the region\u2019s health challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The program, which will air weekly, will feature stories about unique programs, student life and academic offerings at the 14 State System universities. It also will include interviews with university leaders and stakeholders as well as one-on-one discussions between State System leaders and the university presidents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe title of the program says it all,\u201d said Chancellor Brogan. \u201cOur universities do indeed provide infinite opportunities to our students, and this program will highlight some of those opportunities while giving viewers a closer look at what makes each of the institutions special.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Each episode will be available for viewing at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.passhe.edu\/infiniteopportunities\">www.passhe.edu\/infiniteopportunities<\/a> the Wednesday after it airs on PCN, the statewide public affairs network.<\/p>\n<p>Pennsylvania\u2019s State System of Higher Education is the largest provider of higher education in the Commonwealth, with about 110,000 degree-seeking students and thousands more who are enrolled in certificate and other career-development programs. Collectively, the 14 universities that comprise the State System offer more than 2,300 degree and certificate programs in more than 530 academic areas. Nearly 520,000 State System university alumni live in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>The State System universities are: Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock and West Chester Universities of Pennsylvania.
