{"id":1262,"date":"2011-09-16T15:04:40","date_gmt":"2011-09-16T20:04:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www4.esu.edu\/insider\/?p=1262"},"modified":"2011-09-16T15:04:40","modified_gmt":"2011-09-16T20:04:40","slug":"weekly-construction-update-47","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/quantum.esu.edu\/insider\/weekly-construction-update-47\/","title":{"rendered":"Weekly Construction Update (47)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following is a summary of the planned construction activity for the week of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">September 19, 2011<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">New Student Housing Project<\/span>:<\/strong> &#8211; (<em>Project Manager \u2013 Tom Bartek <a href=\"mailto:tbartek@esu.edu\">tbartek@esu.edu<\/a> Tel: 3038<\/em>)<br \/>\nWork for both buildings is progressing well within the recovery schedule and the envelope system is 98% complete for Building \u2018A\u2019 and 90% complete for Building \u2018B\u2019.\u00a0 Installation of exterior louvers for the attic mechanical rooms and exterior site work including finish grading and concrete work for sidewalks and patios has started and progressing well. Installation of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Suppression Systems and installation of interior finishes including casework, countertops and flooring material \u00a0are continuing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expected Impact:<\/strong> Minor traffic flow interruption may occur along Isabelle Street to continue street work improvements for concrete curb adjacent to the existing sidewalks and to create a new two-way vehicle entrance into the new Hawthorn parking lot (currently under construction and opening in November). In addition, the asphalt walkway north of Dansbury Common, from Green Street to Isabelle Street will remain closed for underground steam line removal and replacement and is anticipated to be completed 1 October 2011 for pressure testing.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Monroe Hall Renovation Project<\/span>:<\/strong> &#8211; (<em>Project Manager \u2013 John Bloshinski II <a href=\"mailto:jbloshinski@esu.edu\">jbloshinski@esu.edu<\/a> \u00a0Tel: 3631<\/em>)<br \/>\nIn the Quad; geo-thermal well drilling is now complete and horizontal piping will be installed linking wells. At the south side of the building; underpinning the existing footing will continue, as well as, preparation for the elevator addition footings.\u00a0Abatement continues in the building; third and ground floors are complete and second floor is expected to be completed Wednesday. Abatement work will begin on the first floor once the second floor is cleared.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expected Impact:<\/strong> Noise from backhoes installing horizontal piping and demolition activity.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> Marguerite St. Parking Lot<\/span>:<\/strong>&#8211; (<em>Project Manager \u2013 John Bloshinski II <a href=\"mailto:jbloshinski@esu.edu\">jbloshinski@esu.edu<\/a> \u00a0Tel: 3631<\/em>)<br \/>\nWork continues on the site across from the existing parking lot on Gwendolyn Street to create an additional parking lot for 102 cars. Work will continue on the storm water infiltration\/detention system.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expected Impact:<\/strong> Noise, movement of construction vehicle around the site and possible dust.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Caution<\/span>:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0You are requested to remain outside all construction fenced\u2013in areas (especially around the New Student Housing and Monroe Hall Projects)\u00a0and be alert to slow moving construction vehicles exiting and entering the sites.
