As part of the STEAM project (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math), East Stroudsburg University\u2019s art + design department is presenting two 3D workshops, each focusing on a different aspect of this cutting-edge technology, on February 20 and 21.<\/p>\n
The workshops will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a lunch break, in the 3D design studio, G-3D, of the university\u2019s Fine & Performing Arts Center, Normal and Marguerite streets, East Stroudsburg. Both workshops are open to the public.<\/p>\n
On Saturday February 20 the workshop will focus on the emerging field of 3D printing, which has multiple applications in a wide variety of areas. The workshop is open to individuals from eighth grade up.. Art and design software experience is not required. There is a $20 materials fee for the workshop.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, February 21 the workshop, \u201cSo You Want to be a Product Designer?\u201d will explore the innovative uses of technology in the area of product design. The hands-on workshop for students from eighth grade through college will let participants experience the process of product design through the design and creation of a laser-cut box. There is a $10 materials fee for the workshop.<\/p>\n
Space for each workshop is limited and registration is required. To register, email esuarts@esu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n The workshops receive state arts funding support through a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.<\/p>\n
