President Welsh presented Dr. Cohen with the ESyoU Employee of the Year award as a result of a poll conducted via social media.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania honored 63 employees for their service and dedication during the annual Employee Recognition Ceremony on April 27.\u00a0 Employee service ranges from 10 to 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is great to see such a nice cross-section of campus represented during this year\u2019s recognition ceremony,\u201d said ESU President Marcia G. More than 75 individuals were acknowledged for earning ESU\u2019s \u201cBurgy\u2019s Best\u201d nominations. The \u201cBurgy\u2019s Best\u201d program is one that allows faculty, students and staff to recognize the outstanding work of their peers and excellence in service to the students and the campus. Two individuals earned special honors from the president for having received more than 10 award nominations throughout the 2015-2016 academic year.\u00a0 They were: <strong>Mary Ann Lugo<\/strong>, student enrollment center, and<strong> Mary Rodriguez<\/strong>, Kemp Library.<\/p>\n<p>The final award of the event was the \u201cESyoU\u201d Employee of the Year. This year\u2019s honor was bestowed on one of seven candidates who were nominated by faculty, staff and students to be recognized throughout the 2015-2016 academic year for demonstrating student-centered service. The 2016 ESyoU award was presented to <strong>Robert Cohen<\/strong>, professor and chair of physics and president of University Senate.
